Gigantium is a multi-purpose arena in Aalborg, Denmark.

History

The arena was opened in October 1999 and renovated in 2003. In 2007, the Isarena was added to the sports complex, which is used for home games of the ice hockey club AaB Ishockey from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen. It is also the home ground of the Handball Teams AaB Håndbold ( Håndboldligaen ) and Aalborg DH ( Damehåndboldligaen ). In addition, located in the sports complex still an ice rink for training purposes and a swimming pool. The latter is since October 2009, under construction and scheduled to be inaugurated in August 2011. In the arena regularly hosts concerts. In the years 2006 and 2010 Dansk Melodi Grand Prix here was discharged.

The Gigantium was one of the venues for the European Handball Championship of Women in 2010 and is also one of the venues for the European Handball Championship 2014 to be.
