Gil Courtemanche
Gil Courtemanche ( born August 18, 1943 in Montreal, Quebec; † 19 August 2011) was a Canadian journalist and writer.
Life
Gil Courtemanche was a foreign correspondent, especially in Africa, for the TV station Radio -Canada. He also wrote for several Canadian newspapers. Since his first professional steps in journalism he was interested in international politics and the problems of the Third World.
His first novel A Sunday at the Pool in Kigali ( Original title: Un dimanche à la piscine à Kigali ), the 1994 is about the genocide in Rwanda, has been adapted for the cinema by Robert Favreau. This dramatic love story A Sunday in Kigali ( Un dimanche à Kigali ) launched in April 2006 in the Canadian movie theaters.
