Gilbert G. Groud

Gilbert G. groud (* around 1956 in Toulepleu, Ivory Coast ) is a painter, graphic artist and illustrator and author from the Ivory Coast.

Biography

Gilbert groud was born against 1956 in a village near Toulepleu in the Ivory Coast. He has 23 brothers and sisters who do not all come from the same mother, since his father was polygamous. From the same mother descended from seven siblings.

He first visited as all his brothers and some of his sisters to school in his home village, and later he went to the city to complete his education. In 1979 he entered the University Institute National des Arts in Abidjan his art studies and specialized in communication. His thesis he wrote in 1983 on the theme " Magie Noire " ( Black Magic ). Based on this work, the trilogy " Magie Noire " was born. Groud is currently working on the third and last book of the series.

Since 2006 groud lives in Switzerland.

Commitment

Groud is actively against the use of children in war. This problem is in his homeland of Ivory Coast, is widespread. He plans several exhibitions on child soldiers in Europe and is working on a comic book, which is to bring people closer to the subject.

Groud is against the practice of so-called black magic. His books are a way to spread his ideas on the subject. He also goes on lecture tours to France and in Switzerland.

Currently, he is planning to bring out a comic book against Female Genital Cutting in cooperation with a German.
