Gilbert Gottfried

Gilbert Gottfried ( born February 28, 1955 in Brooklyn, New York City ) is an American comedian and actor.

Life

Gottfried began his career as a teenager as a stand- up comedian in New York. In 1980 he was hired for the show Saturday Night Live, but left that after twelve episodes in which he was rarely used. Until the mid- 1980s, he worked on as a comedian and supporting actor in several film and television formats. In 1987 he played a supporting role in Beverly Hills Cop II, through which he came to the attention of audiences and film producer. Subsequently, he played in a series of film comedies, including Look, who's talking 2 da and Problem Child. In 1992, he spoke the parrot Iago in Disney's Aladdin. Since then, he borrowed this in several sequels, the television series, and in other Disney formats his voice. He had more speaking roles in the Doctor Dolittle film starring Eddie Murphy as well as in television series such as Beavis and Butthead and Family Guy.
