Gilbert Plass
Gilbert Norman Plass ( born March 22, 1920 in Toronto, Ontario; † 2 March 2004) was a Canadian physicist who lived most of his life in the United States. He graduated in 1941 from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in 1947 in physics at Princeton University. Later he became a professor at Texas A & M University. Since 1956, he dealt with the effects of carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas. He then calculated that a doubling of CO2 concentration ( climate sensitivity ) would lead to a warming of 3.6 ° C. Today starts from values between 2 and 4,5 ° C.
