Gilbert Thomas Burnett

Gilbert Thomas Burnett ( born April 15, 1800 London, † July 27, 1835 ) was a British botanist and zoologist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Burnett ".

Burnett was the first professor of botany at King's College London ( 1831-1835 ). Burnett wrote several botanical works, as well as zoological Illustrations of the Manupeda or apes and Their allies, which appeared in 1828.

The English botanist John Lindley named 1840 orchid genus Burnettia in his honor.

Burnett was a member of the Linnean Society ( Linnean Society).
