Gill Swerts (2009)

Gill Swerts ( born September 23, 1982 in Brasschaat ) is a Belgian football player who plays for the 2013/14 season at NAC Breda in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Playing career

Gill Swerts began his career as a professional footballer in 2001 at Excelsior Rotterdam. With Excelsior he rose as a regular player in the first start-up in the Eredivisie on. After relegation in 2003 it moved to right -back, however, to the great local rivals Feyenoord Rotterdam, for which he had already played in youth. After a year in which he could not wholly prevail, Swerts went to league rivals ADO Den Haag. There he found his way back to its former strength and, after just one season at Vitesse Arnhem. At Vitesse he played an extended period on the left side of defense. Its good season 2007/ 08 with 34 missions, in which he scored three goals, he used as a springboard for the transfer to the Dutch top club AZ Alkmaar. Here he was in his first season celebrate the Dutch championship. Overall, he remained two and a half years in AZ. In the season 2010/11 he came but hardly used, so he switched to the winter break back to Feyenoord. His contract there will initially run for six months on loan and includes his complete change to the Rotterdamern for season 2011/12. But already in the following season he played for Danish club SønderjyskE. For the 2013/14 season he returned to the Netherlands and signed a two -year contract with NAC Breda.

National

From 2006 to 2009 Gill Swerts played 16 caps for Belgium. In this he succeeded on 1 April 2009 in the match against Bosnia - Herzegovina, his first international goal.
