Gilles de Robien

Gilles de Robien ( born April 10, 1941 in Cocquerel (Somme ) ) is a French politician.

Curriculum vitae

After studying law he practices since 1965 from the occupation of a general agent for insurance in Amiens.

Elective offices

Since 1986, Gilles de Robien is a deputy for the 2nd electoral district of the Somme. He is also a member of the Finance Committee and the Research Committee on the causes, consequences and prevention of floods of the National Assembly. From 1993 to 1998 he also occupied the position of Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly and, since 1989, the mayor of Amiens ( Somme), the Chairman of the greater community of Amiens with its suburbs and a member of the Regional Council of Picardy 1992. He is primarily the law for division thanks and reduction of working hours of 11 June 1996, known as the " loi de Robien ".

Political offices

1990 Gilles de Robien is included in the Executive Office and the Executive Board of the Republican party UDF. In parallel, it sits as of 1991 in the National Council and the Politburo of the Party. Since November 1998 he has been a member of the Politburo and Deputy Chairman of the UDF. From 1995 to 1997 he has served as Leader of the representatives of the UDF in the National Assembly. From May 2002 to May 2005 is subject to him, the Ministry of Equipment, Transportation, housing, tourism and marine use of the cabinets of Raffarin. On 3 June 2005 appointed him Dominique de Villepin in his new government as Minister of Education and Research.
