Gilles Grangier

Gilles Grangier ( born May 5, 1911 in Paris, † April 28, 1996 in Suresnes ) was a French film director and screenwriter.

Life

Grangier came as a stuntman and an extra for the film. From 1933 he worked as an assistant director. His career was interrupted by military service in film and prisoner of war. After his release he was filming his first film as director in 1942. Grangier wrote to many of his films also wrote the screenplay and wrote thrillers, dramas and comedies. Particularly frequent, he worked with the actor Jean Gabin, but also with other French stars of the time such as remote Andel and Jean Marais. In the last years of his professional life Grangier turned mainly for television.
