Gilles Grimandi

Gilles Grimandi ( born November 11, 1970 in Gap, France ) is a French football player.

Grimandi began his career in 1990 with Monaco and made his professional debut in Ligue 1 1991 against AS Nancy. For this club, he completed 90 games, scoring 3 goals; mostly as a defensive midfielder.

He helped AS Monaco also to achieve both European cups semi-finals: UEFA Cup and the Champions League. He also won in that time two champion titles, in 1996 and 1997. 1998 brought Arsene Wenger, at the time manager of Arsenal FC in the Premier League. His first game for Arsenal he played against Leeds United and has won a "Double" ( FA Cup and Championship).

After winning another " Double" and a total of 84 games Grimandi finally moving in 2003 to the Colorado Rapids in the United States.
