Gilles Maignan

Gilles Maignan ( born July 30, 1968 in Argenteuil ) is a former French professional cyclist, who was especially successful in the time trial.

Biography

Gilles Maignan began his professional career in 1995 with the team Mutuelle de Seine- et- Marne, after it had been six years of amateur. His greatest successes came in the late 1990s for the team casino and its successor AG2R Prévoyance. He was in consequence of French time trial champion, thus he qualified in 1998 and twice in 1999 for the UCI Road World Championships. In 1998 he finished the time trial of the World Cup only 27th place in 1999 handed to a respectable seventh place. In 2000, he won so far the only Frenchman Tour Down Under.

2002 ended Maignan his career. He took a total of four times participated in the Tour de France three times and reached the destination in Paris. Maignan now works at the Amaury Sport Organisation.
