Gillis van Tilborch

Gillis van Tilborgh (* 1625 in Brussels, † 1678 ) was a Dutch painter.

Tilborgh, pupil of David Teniers the Elder, was there in 1654 and died at Master 1678th He has in the way of his master and Joos van Craesbekes painted genre scenes of peasant life (weddings, tavern scenes, fights, & c. ). One of his most important works was the Peasant Wedding ( in Dresden).

From 1666 he was Kurater of your image collection in the castle Tervuren near Brussels.
