Gillmeria
Gillmeria ochrodactyla
Gillmeria is disseminated in the Holarctic genus of butterflies of the family of spring moths ( Pterophoridae ).
Features
There is a shed brush on the front of the head. The palps are long and slender. The forewings usually have a pretty pointed shape and a little developed drawing. The Costaldreieck is indicated only by a few small lines and dots. On the wing outer edge of the third wing lobe of the hind wing there is a weak so-called educated shed tooth. The European representative of the genus Gillmeria reach a wingspan 17-28 mm.
The Valven are symmetrical. The basal region of the saccule is often more clearly separated than the distal area and from this. The female genitalia are similar to those of the genus Platyptilia.
Dissemination
The representatives of the genus Gillmeria are common in the Holarctic. A single copy of Gillmeria pallidactyla was collected in Brazil.
Way of life
The food plants hitherto known are species from the Korbblütlergattungen Achillea ( yarrow ) and Tanacetum ( usury flowers).
