Geographical location

Ginsweiler located in the North Palatine Uplands in Odenbachtal, which is found between Lauter and Alsenz Valley. To Ginsweiler includes the residential places Naumburgerhof and oil mill.

The region is also called by many the " Old World ".

History

Ginsweiler was first documented in 1379. It first belonged to the county Veldenz, then Palatinate -Zweibrücken.

Northeast of the Naumburg Court in Ginsberg, there was the medieval Naumburg.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " In split plate right twelvefold of silver and blue divided, left in black and a golden gorse branch ".

It was awarded in 1978 by the district government Neustadt. The twelve-fold division in the front half comes from the coat of arms of the Lords von Boxberg, the colors of the county Veldenz. The city name is shown talking back in the Rhineland-Palatinate state colors.
