Giordano Bellincampi

Bellincampi Giordano (born 1965 in Rome) is a native of Italy Danish conductor.

Work

Bellincampi was born in Rome and moved in 1976 at the age of eleven, his family moved to Denmark. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen bass trombone and conducting. He was initially hired as a trombonist with the Royal Danish Orchestra, before he gave in 1994 his conducting debut with the Odense Symphony Orchestra. Since then, he is active as a conductor, inter alia, at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ( La Bohème, 2010). He was, inter alia, Principal Guest Conductor of the Royal Danish Orchestra and there from 2000 to 2006 also director of music. His operatic debut Bellincampi in 2000 with a performance of Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème at the Royal Opera House Copenhagen. It was followed by numerous opera conducting engagements worldwide, mainly with works from the Italian repertoire such as La traviata Il trovatore or. Giordano Bellincampi took over in 2005, also the position of music director of the prestigious Danish National Opera Aarhus. Early 2013 he succeeded Jonathan Darlington Music Director of the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
