Giorgi Latso

Giorgi Latso ( born April 15, 1978 in Tbilisi, Georgian SSR as Giorgi Lazabidse; Georgian გიორგი ლაცაბიძე ) is a Georgian- American pianist and composer.

He studied under the state Sarajishvili Conservatory in Tbilisi, at the Hanover University of Music, at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Flora L. Thornton School of Music, University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Among his teachers were Russudan Chodzava, Gerrit Zitterbart, Lazar Berman and Stewart Gordon.

Latso had numerous performances in master classes and concerts in Europe, Asia, South America and the United States of America. He was known for his performance of Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto in WUK cultural center in the Austrian press as "... a technically brilliant pianist filled with poignant lyricism and true profundity " celebrated. Educational activities

Giorgi Latso taught from 2007 to 2010 at the University of Southern California, then became a professor of piano at the private Azusa Pacific University and has taught since 2011 at the Community College of Glendale ( California). Since autumn 2012 he has been Professor (piano) at the Prayner Conservatory and Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna.

From 2007 to 2010 he was president of the Music Teachers National Association in California.
