Giorgi Shashiashvili

Giorgi Shashiashvili (Georgian გიორგი შაშიაშვილი; born September 1, 1979 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian football player at the position of a defender. He currently plays for Enosis Ergotelis Diethnis in the Greek Super League.

Career

Shashiashvili began his career as a football player in his native Georgia Tbilisi at Dynamo. After a brief stopover at TSU Tbilisi, he played a total of nine years at Dinamo. 2005 changed the defender to Russia Alania Vladikavkaz. In July 2006 Shashiashvili moved to the Ukraine to Chernomorets Odessa. In the summer of 2007, the defenders finally moved to Austria for Bundesliga club SK Sturm Graz. His contract is valid until summer 2009. Georgian national team was at first team regular for locals.

Early June 2009 did not pull the SK Sturm option on contract extension, which is why the Georgians to Greece joined Ergotelis.

International Shashiashvili played 29 times for Georgia and scored one goal. This he scored against Italy in the European Championship qualifier on 11 October 2006 in Tbilisi. The game was lost in spite of everything 1:3.
