Giorgio Corbellini

Giorgio Corbellini ( born April 20, 1947 in Travo, Piacenza, Italy ) is a Curia Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

After studying Catholic theology and philosophy Giorgio Corbellini received on 10 July 1971, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the Diocese of Piacenza - Bobbio. On April 19, 1993, Pope John Paul II appointed Vice - Secretary General of the Governorate of Vatican City. He was confirmed on 22 February 2001 in this office.

On July 3, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him. Titular Bishop of Abula and President of the Pontifical Labour Office. He received his episcopal consecration Benedict XVI. on 12 September of the same year in St. Peter's Basilica; Co-consecrators Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone SDB were and the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal William Joseph Levada. On 11 May 2010 Giorgio Corbellini was also appointed President of the Disciplinary Commission of the Roman Curia.

Pope Francis appointed him on 30 January 2014 to further the president of the Vatican financial information authority.
