Giorgio Morbiato

Giorgio Morbiato ( born July 30, 1948 in Padua ) is an Italian former racing driver and two -time world champion.

Giorgio Morbiato was a specialist in the team pursuit. In this discipline, he was in 1968 in Montevideo, world champions, together with Cipriano Chemello, Lorenzo and Luigi Bosisio Roncaglia. In the same year, the Italian train of four launched in the same occupation at the Olympic Games in Mexico City and won the bronze medal. 1969 occupied the Italian team (Antonio Castello, Algeri and Bazzan ) at the World Championships in second place. 1971 Morbiato was a second time World Champion in the Team Pursuit ( with Bazzan, Algeri and Luciano Borgognoni ).

1973 Morbiato was professional and played from then next track racing and road racing, but without outstanding results. In 1973 he was Italian vice-champion in the Stayers race. He also started at 20 six-day races and won in 1974 from Delhi ( Canada ), together with Alberto Della Torre.
