Giorgos Toussas

Giorgos Toussas (Greek Γιώργος Τούσσας, born September 8, 1954 in Kilada ) is a Greek politician and Member of the European Parliament for the Communist Party of Greece, which belongs to the Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left.

Toussas is a qualified marine engineer. He worked as an engineer in the merchant navy and is Chairman of the Greek Association of Marine Engineers and a member of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Seeleuteverbands.

Toussas is a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece.

In the period 2009-2014 Toussas is a member of the European Parliament. He has the Confederal Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left connected, the board member he is.

He is a member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism, the Delegation to the Joint Parliamentary Committee EU-Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and the Delegation for relations with the Palestinian Legislative Council. As a deputy, he is in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, in the Delegation to the ACP -EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean.
