Élber de Souza ( born July 23, 1972 in Londrina, Brazil ) is a former Brazilian footballer. De Souza is usually called Giovane Élber, which is a variant created in Germany his Italian nickname il Giovane Elber ( " the young Elber ").

Career

Clubs

AC Milan and Grasshoppers Zurich

1990 undertook the AC Milan Giovane Élber of his home club Londrina Esporte Clube from the state of Paraná, for which he was active a year earlier. After a season in Italy, where he only had a single insert in the cup competition, changed Élber to Switzerland initially on loan to the Grasshoppers Zurich, with whom he Swiss Cup winner and scorer of the National League A in 1994.

VfB Stuttgart

With 31 years Élber moved in August 2003 to France for first division club Olympique Lyon, with whom he won the 2004 championship and the Super Cup. Differences with his club were free transfer back to the Bundesliga in January 2005 him. However, for Borussia Mönchengladbach he came through a persistent injury crisis only sporadically used. Belo Horizonte

Giovane Élber was established in 1991 with the Brazilian U -20 team at the Junior World Championships in Portugal vice-champion.
