Giovanni Carlo Bandi

Giovanni Carlo Bandi (* July 17, 1709 in Cesena, Italy, † March 23, 1784 in Imola ) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church

Ordained priest on September 18, 1734, he was appointed on December 18, 1744 as Bishop of Ostia - Velletri and at the same titular bishop of Botrys. The latter go well with the fact that Ostia - Velletri was a cardinal bishopric ( and still is) and Bandi this dignity not clothed. After he had received episcopal ordination on 28 December of the same year, he was transferred on 20 March 1752 the major for the Papal States see of Imola, where he remained bishop until his death. Pope Pius VI. , His nephew, raised him on 29 May 1775 Cardinal in pectore and published his name on 11 September 1775. Yet on 18 December of that year he received a cardinal priest, the titular church of Santa Maria del Popolo.
