Giovanni Caselli

Giovanni Caselli ( born May 25, 1815 in Siena, † October 5, 1891 in Florence ) was an Italian physicist.

Caselli was initially mainly politically active. Later he tried to bring close physical knowledge wide circles of the population. He founded this magazine La recreazione.

Caselli invented a designated as pantelegraph copying telegraph, which he had patented in 1855 in England and France. Pantelegraph in 1860 in the French telegraph offices on the lines of Paris - Marseille used (1000 miles) by the year 1871 - Amiens ( 140 km) and Paris.
