Giovanni Fago

Giovanni Fago ( born April 25, 1933, Rome ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter.

Life

Fago visited after completing a law degree at the University La Sapienza in Rome from 1956 to 1958, the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. Previously he was, as then also bi 1967 worked in the film industry in 1955 as an assistant director. In this role, he worked for commercial productions, often on the side of Lucio Fulci. From 1967 he directed himself; here were routinely rotated genre productions in the foreground. The most important among them is probably O'Cangaceiro, a gambling in Brazil revolutionary film with Tomás Milián in the lead role. From the late 1970s he filmed some interesting stories for the Italian television. After a long pause he staged in 2000 and again three years later for the big screen.

He occasionally wrote screenplays for films other and occurred as a performer. His younger brother is Amedeo Fago. A pseudonym is Fagos Sidney Lean.
