Giovanni Giacomo Panciroli

Giovanni Giacomo Panciroli (* 1587 in Rome, † September 3, 1651 ) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and Cardinal Secretary of State.

Panciroli was born in 1587 in Rome and taught there as well. In 1605 he received the degree of Doctor iuris utriusque.

He was an advocate of the Curia and accompanied Giovanni Battista Pamphili during his service in Naples and Spain.

1641, he was appointed Latin Titularpatriarchen of Constantinople Opel. On January 12, 1642 he was ordained by Giulio Sacchetti in the church of Santa Maria in Vallicella bishop. 1643 Pope Urban VIII made ​​him a cardinal priest with the titular church of Santo Stefano Rotondo. After the death of Urban VIII Panciroli participated in the conclave of 1644.

Pope Innocent X appointed him Cardinal Secretary of State, together with the Kardinalnepoten Camillo Francesco Maria Pamphilij until it gave up the office to marry Olimpia Aldobrandini.

Panciroli died on September 3, 1651 in Rome at the Quirinal Palace.
