Giovanni Giorgi

Giovanni Giorgi ( born November 27, 1871 in Lucca, † August 19 1950 in Castiglioncello ) was an Italian physicist and mathematician.

Giovanni Giorgi struck in 1901 before the Giorgi system of units. This was adopted in 1935 as MKS unit system at a meeting of the IEC Commission in Brussels. In subsequent years, it has evolved over the MKSA system to the International System of Units ( SI).
