Giovanni Moretti (bishop)

Giovanni Moretti ( born November 20, 1923 in Meina ) is Emeritus Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Life

Giovanni Moretti received on 28 June 1947, the ordination. Paul VI. appointed him on September 9, 1971 for the Apostolic Pro- Nuncio to Thailand and Apostolic Delegate in Laos, Malaysia and Singapore and Titular Archbishop of Vartana.

The Apostolic Nuncio to Austria Opilio Rossi consecrated him on 24 October of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Placido Maria Cambiaghi B, Bishop of Novara, and Robert Ratna Bamrungtrakul, Bishop of Ratchaburi.

On March 13, 1978, he was appointed Apostolic Pro- Nuncio to Sudan and on 10 July 1984 as Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Egypt. On 15 July 1989 he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Belgium and Luxembourg. His old conditional resignation, Pope John Paul II on 3 March 1999.
