Giovanni Venturini

Giovanni Venturini (* November 9, 1991 in Vicenza ) is an Italian race car driver. 2012 and 2013 he competed in the GP3 Series.

Career

After Venturini in karting was only active for a short time, he began his motorsport career in 2008 in Formula racing. Starting for CO2 Motorsport, he finished second in the Winter Trophy of the Italian Formula 2000 Light and seventh in the winter series of the Portuguese Formula Renault. 2009 Venturini went to both the Italian as well as in the Swiss Formula Renault. With a win, he finished the Italian Formula Renault in third place overall. In the Swiss Formula Renault he was three wins behind Nico Müller runner-up. 2010 moved to Venturini Epsilon Euskadi in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup. He chose a race and finished fifth in the overall standings. He also competed for Epsilon Euskadi each a race weekend of the British and northern European Formula Renault.

2011 Venturini went for Durango in the Auto GP at the start. He managed to win his debut race in Monza. After the championship lead he held for the first four races, he lost in the course of the season, despite another victory some positions and was eventually finished ninth in the drivers' standings. Against his teammate Giuseppe Cipriani, he sat down with 76 to 2 points clear through. 2012 Venturini started the season with BVM Target in Formula Renault 3.5. After the fourth race weekend he lost his cockpit. He moved into the GP3 Series at Trident Racing and denied five of eight race weekends. He scored two third places for best results. Venturini was the only Trident - pilot, who had scored points. He finished the season in 13th place from the drivers' standings. 2013 remained Venturini at Trident in the GP3 Series. At Silverstone he won the sprint race. Venturini finished the season in 15th place overall. He had scored 26 of his 32 points racing team.
