Girolamo Cavazzoni

Girolamo Cavazzoni ( Hieronimo d' Urbino, * 1520 in Urbino; † after 1577) was an Italian organist and composer.

The son of composer Marco Antonio Cavazzoni was after his training first organist at the court of the Gonzaga dukes in Mantua. He oversaw the construction of the organ in the Hofkirche Santa Barbara Palazzo Ducale, where he worked until 1577 as an organist. Of his compositions also two Canzonas by Josquin Des Prez and Pierre Passereau, three Masses, Magnificat four and twelve hymns are in three volumes Ricercares for keyboard instruments, survived.
