Girolamo Crescentini
Girolamo Crescentini ( born February 2, 1762, Urbania, † April 24, 1846 in Naples) was an Italian composer and Kastratensopran.
Life
Crescentini appeared as a singer on in Italy, Portugal, France and Austria, where he worked as a singing teacher. In 1804 he became a teacher at the Imperial court in Vienna, in 1806 at the court of Napoleon Bonaparte in Paris. Since 1816 he was a singing teacher at the Real Conservatorio di Musica in Naples.
In addition to a collection of vocal exercises ( Raccolta di esercizi per il Canto, 1811), he composed several cantatas and arias.
