Girolamo Simoncelli

Girolamo Simoncelli (* 1522 in Orvieto, † February 24, 1605 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal.

Girolamo Simoncelli was succeeded by his great-uncle Julius III. in the consistory of December 22, 1553 elevated to cardinal. He was from 1554 Bishop of Orvieto and administrator from 1570th He participated in several conclaves ( April 1555 and May 1555 1559, 1565-1566, 1591 and 1592) in part. He was Cardinal Proto priest of 1598 and Vice - Dean of the Sacred College of Cardinals 1603.
