Gisela Kallenbach

Gisela Kallenbach ( born March 28, 1944 in Soldin / Neumark, today poln Myślibórz / Poland ) is a German politician ( Alliance 90/The Greens ). From 2004 to 2009 she was a MEP in the Group of the Greens / European Free Alliance. Since 2009 she is a Member of the Saxon parliament.

Life and education

Due to the social origin and the Christian confession ( which was expressed among other things in the denial of Jugendweihe ) Kallenbach was denied a high school in the GDR. Post-high school was a lesson and from 1962 to 1969 to work as a lab technician and research assistant on behalf of VEB Mineralölwerk Lützkendorf in the Academy of Sciences in Leipzig. In evening and correspondence courses, she moved from 1965 to 1970 to Dipl. -Ing. ( FH) technology in chemistry and graduated in 1967 the state exam specialist translators from English.

1969-1990 Kallenbach worked as a laboratory manager and theme manager ( with an interim career breaks due to childbirth and upbringing of three children)

After the turn Kallenbach worked from 1990 to 2000 as a lecturer in the department of environmental protection, city of Leipzig. From 2000 to 2003 she served as Mayor International, the UN mission in Kosovo operates.

Policy

Gisela Kallenbach is a member of the Green Party and was 1996-1999 Assessor, Regional Executive Alliance 90/The Greens in Saxony. Community structure, she was deputy in the city council of Leipzig (1990-1991) ( resignation of the mandate for employment in the administration) and representative of the city of Leipzig in the environmental committee of " Euro Cities ." From 2004 to 2009 she was a member of the European Parliament. During the state election 2009 drew them over the national list (No. 9) of the Greens in the Parliament of Saxony.
