Gislaved Municipality

Gislaved is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Jönköping County, the historical province of Småland. The main town of the municipality is Gislaved.

Geography

In the municipality there are 388 lakes, the largest being Bolmen, Sweeping, Majsjön and Nissasjöarna. The river flows through the Nissan community towards its estuary at Halmstad.

History

In the course of municipal reform of 1974, the municipality of the six municipalities Anderstorp, Burseryd, Gislaved, Reftele, Villstad and Södra Mo was formed.
