Gislaved, Sweden

Gislaved is an industrial town in the Swedish province of Jönköping County, the historical province of Småland, about 70 kilometers south of Jönköping. Gislaved is the capital of the municipality of the same name.

The well-known rubber industry Gislaved AB with the car tire plants was sold in 1992 to Continental AG; the works were closed in 2001 and moved production to Portugal. The tires Gislaved brand, however, was continued.

Traffic

Gislaved had from 1901 to 1990 a station on the railway line Reftele - Gislaved.
