Gitega Province

Gitega ( alternative spelling Kitega ) is a province of Burundi, whose capital is also called Gitega. It is located in the center of the country.

2007 Gitega has an estimated population of 678,000.

Gitega is divided into eleven districts Bugendana, Bukirasazi, Buraza, Giheta, Gishubi, Gitega, Makebuko, Mutaho, Nyanrusange, Ryansoro and Taba.
