Gitte Seeberg

Gitte Seeberg ( born June 25, 1960 in Copenhagen) is a Danish politician and since 2008 Secretary General of WWF Denmark.

Profession

Seeberg castle in 1986 to study law at the University of Copenhagen from. She then worked for three years in a law firm before they went independent in 1989 as a lawyer and commercial real estate broker.

Policy

Seeberg from 1994 to 2004 she was deputy of the Conservative People's Party in the Folketing. Between 2001 and 2004 she was deputy party chairman and a member of the municipal council of Søllerød. After the 2004 European elections, she moved to the European Parliament.

Substitution of parties

On 7 May 2007 Gitte Seeberg founded together with MEP Anders Samuelsen and the Folketing deputies Naser Khader (both formerly Det Radical Venstre ), the liberal- centrist party " New Alliance " ( Ny alliance, today Liberal Alliance). The reason they claimed not to be able to approve longer the cooperation of the Conservative Party with the right-wing populist Danish People's Party. After the general election in 2007, she returned for the New Alliance to the Folketing.

Gitte Seeberg left the alliance on 29 January 2008 because the foundation had developed their view in the wrong political direction. She remained non-attached MEPs until they renounced on July 8, 2008 to its mandate to become Secretary General of WWF Denmark.
