Giuliano Razzoli

Giuliano Razzoli ( born December 18, 1984 in Castelnovo ne ' Monti ) is an Italian alpine skier and sports soldier. He drives almost exclusively race in the slalom discipline. At the Olympic Winter Games 2010, he was Olympic champion in this discipline.

Biography

In December 1999 Razzoli first participated in FIS races. Up to the first missions in the European Cup took another five years, he repeatedly suffered from chronic back pain that had to be treated with long-term therapies. In addition, he could not find boots because of its above-average shoe size 47 a long time, which allowed him a pain-free driving. In 2006 he drove in the European Cup more times in the top ten, the same year he was Italian slalom champion.

Razzolis first World Cup race was on 18 December 2006, the slalom on the Gran Risa in Alta Badia. World Cup points he won for the first time as 24 of the slalom in Kitzbuehel on January 27, 2007. European Cup season 2006/ 07 ended Razzoli third in the slalom standings. January 6, 2009 Razzoli scored in a World Cup race for the first time a podium as he drove to third place in the night slalom in Zagreb with the high start number 43. At the 2009 World Championships in Val d'Isere he fell out in the first slalom run. On January 6, 2010 Razzoli won his first World Cup race, the slalom at the Snow Queen Trophy in Zagreb.

His greatest success came in Razzoli at the Olympic Winter Games 2010: On 27 February 2010, he won the gold medal in Whistler in the slalom, Ivica Kostelic just ahead. The next year he retired from the World Cup 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen in the second round, after he had lain in the first race in eleventh place. At the end of the 2010/11 season Razzoli celebrated at the finals in Lenzerheide his second World Cup victory.
