Giulio Lasso

Giulio Lasso (* in Florence, † 1617) was an Italian architect and representatives of Sicilian Baroque.

His main works include the construction (1608-1620) of the four palaces of the Quattro Canti, a central square in Palermo. The structure and design of the four palace facades regarded as a typical example of Sicilian Baroque. The ensemble of buildings was completed by Lasso death of Mariano Smiriglio. Giulio Lasso 1612 brought the construction of the abbey church of San Martino delle Scale to an end and designed the colonnades of the plant. From Lasso comes also the cloister of the Cloister di Ponente in Catania of 1608, which was heavily damaged by the earthquake of 1693.

He was the half-brother of the painter Orazio Borgianni (* Rome 1575 - January 15, 1616 ibid ), the Lasso initially accompanied to Sicily.
