Giuseppe Caprio

Cardinal Giuseppe Caprio (* November 15, 1914 in Lapio, province of Avellino, Italy, † October 15, 2005 in Rome ) was a Vatican diplomat and later became a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Giuseppe Caprio studied in Rome, the subjects philosophy and Catholic theology and received on 17 December 1938, the sacrament of Holy Orders. After further studies, he worked in years 1940-1947 in the Vatican Secretariat of State. Giuseppe Caprio took part in the Second Vatican Council and in 1967 Pro-Nuncio in India. From 1969, he held various leadership roles in the administration of the Vatican.
