Giuseppe Cesare Abba

Giuseppe Cesare Abba ( born October 6, 1838 in Cairo Montenotte near Savona, † November 6, 1910 in Brescia ) was an Italian writer and freedom fighter.

Life

Abba wrote after the conclusion of the grammar school at the Art Academy in Genova, interrupted his studies from 1859 that, in 1860 to attend Giuseppe Garibaldi train the thousands as a volunteer in the Piedmontese army on the second Italian War of Independence. After the unification of Italy, he studied at the University of Pisa and wrote some of his literary works. In 1866, he fought with Garibaldi's volunteers in the Battle of Bezzecca turn against the Austrians. For his bravery in battle, he received a prestigious award. In the following years he worked as mayor of his hometown, and especially as a writer.

1910 he was appointed a senator yet, but Abba died the same year in Brescia.
