Giuseppe Ferrara

Giuseppe Ferrara ( born July 15, 1932 in Castel Fiorentino ) is an Italian film critic, documentary filmmaker and film director.

Life

Ferrara was inspired at an early age by the film, founded a film club and wrote his thesis in 1957 at the University of Florence on the " Nuovo Cinema Italiano ". After moving to Rome, he completed the course at the Centro Sperimentale di Director of Cinematography in 1959. In the following years came not only popular documentaries that dealt with political issues and current sociological problems, but also two books about the movies Luchino Visconti and Francesco Rosi. 1970 to 1976 was followed by a spectacle encyclopedia in 80 deliveries. He also wrote for numerous film periodicals and was a member of the Association of Film Critics.

In addition to his films for the Italian, he also worked for the Bulgarian and Cuban television until 1970 he began a new chapter of his work - Ferrara now directed feature films.
