Giuseppe Galderisi

Giuseppe Galderisi ( born March 22, 1963 in Salerno, Italy ) is a retired Italian footballer and current coach.

Playing career

In the club

Giuseppe Galderisi, nicknamed Nanu, comes from the youth department of his home club Salernitana Calcio. In 1980 he was engaged by Juventus, where he was for three seasons under contract and the Italian Championship twice and could win the Coppa Italia once.

1983 moved to Galderisi Hellas Verona. With this club he was in 1984/85 to celebrate his third Scudetto and was about eleven top scorer of his team. The season 1986/87 spent Galderisi at AC Milan 1987/88 he played at Lazio in Serie B.

For the season 1988/89 Giuseppe Galderisi changed back to Hellas Verona, but did not match past performances there. In the summer of 1989, he was again committed by Milan, who sold it immediately to Calcio Padova in Serie B. In Padua Galderisi spent a total of seven seasons, increased with the team in 1993/94 to Serie A and kept them a year later with a goal in the relegation match against Genoa from relegation.

His career ended Giuseppe Galderisi in the USA at New England Revolution and later in Tampa Bay Mutiny, with whom in 1996 he won the championship of the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer.

In the National Team

After he had already played for the Italian U -21, Giuseppe Galderisi played under coach Enzo Bearzot on June 2, 1985 in a 1-1 draw against Mexico, his first senior international for Italy.

The following year he graduated at the World Cup in Mexico four games for the Italians, who could not defend their title from 1982 and already failed in France in the second round. After the 1986 World Cup Galderisi was not appointed to the Squadra Azzurra, he completed a total of ten matches.

Coaching career

In 2000, Giuseppe Galderisi started his career as coach of AS Gubbio 1910 in the Serie C2. He then worked in 2001/ 02 with the U.S. Cremonese and 2002/ 03 Giulianova Calcio.

In 2001 he founded in Padua Galderisi soccer team, a football school that cares about the education of young footballers and 2006, more than 80 youth players in charge.

After a heart attack in January 2004 and after the necessary relaxation Galderisi took 2005 as coach of AS Viterbese Calcio in Serie C2. 2006/ 07 season, he coached the U.S. Avellino in Serie C1. After a strong first half of the season, which he completed with the team on the first place in the table, he was fired after disagreements with the Board on 18 April 2007 there, although it was number two and was still in the promotion race.
