Effect

In contrast to the Renaissance perspective the Bibienas often designed a Übereckstellung of decoration, the tapering spaces to multiple vanishing points back and nest and so pretend infinity. Even the first-time use of painted transparent materials, the impression of endless architecture was generated. This suggestion of infinite space is perhaps influenced by the worldview since Giordano Bruno.

His drawings endlessly nested dungeon rooms, the Carceri, had a strong influence on Giovanni Battista Piranesi.
