Giuseppe Giannini

Giuseppe Giannini ( born August 20, 1964 in Rome ) is a retired Italian footballer and current coach.

Playing career

In the club

His career began at Frattocchie Giannini, a club in Marino, near Rome. A little later he moved to AS Roma, Lazio next to the most famous club in the city. From 1982 to 1996 he held the Giallorossi their loyalty and became at that time the big fan favorite and idol. In his first season with the Giannini was trained by Nils Liedholm team of Italian masters, if he was even then used as one of the youngest rarely in the team. Giuseppe Giannini took part with the Italian national team at the European Championship in 1988 and at the 1990 World Championships at home. Both times left the Italians in the semifinals. In 47 games for the " Azzurri " of 177 cm Giannini scored six goals, including the winning goal in a 1-0 group stage match against the USA at the 1990 World Cup.

Coaching career

Giuseppe Giannini's first as a coach in 2004 / 05, the U.S. Foggia. He then oversaw the SS Sambenedettese Calcio, the Romanian club FC Arges Pitesti and the U.S. Massese.

In 2008, Giannini took over as head coach of the Apulian club Gallipoli Calcio, he has already resulted in the first season to the rise in the B series. In March 2010, Giannini resigned after unsatisfactory sporting achievements of the team back as head coach and was replaced by Ezio Rossi. On June 30, 2013 Giannini takes over the national team in Lebanon and thus succeeds the after Al- Ettifaq (Saudi Arabia) migrated Theo Bücker.

Trivia

Because of his impressive play Giannini was by Roma fans, the " Romanisti ", also known as Il Principe referred to ( the Prince ).
