Giuseppe Grassi (politician)

Giuseppe Grassi ( born May 8, 1883 in Lecce, Province of Lecce; † January 25, 1950 ) was an Italian lawyer and politician of the Unione Nazionale Democrática ( UDN) and Partito Liberal Italiano ( PLI), which from 1947 until his death justice minister Italy was.

Life

After schooling Grassi studied law and worked as a lawyer and after completing a university lecturer.

Already in the Kingdom of Italy, he became politically active, and was founded in November 1913 for the first time a member of the Chamber of Deputies ( Camera del Regno d' Italia ) is selected, where he remained until 25 January 1924.

At the end of the Second World War, he began his involvement in the UDN and was their representative on 25 June 1946 to 26 April 1948 as a member of the Constituent Assembly ( Assemblea Costituente della Repubblica Italiana ).

On 31 May 1947 he was appointed by Prime Minister Alcide De Gasperi to the Minister of Justice ( Minstro della Giustizia ) in the fourth cabinet and retained this function in its fifth government until his death on 25 January 1950. During his tenure as Minister of Justice came there the adoption of the Constitution ( La Repubblica Italiana Costituzione ) on December 22, 1947 which he sealed by virtue of office.
