Giuseppe Petrilli

Giuseppe Petrilli ( born March 24, 1913 in Naples, † May 13, 1999 ibid ) was an Italian professor and EEC Commissioner.

Giuseppe Petrilli studied mathematics. In the first European Commission was Petrilli Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. He was a member of the working groups of the main areas of responsibility development of the overseas countries and territories, and foreign relations. On February 8, 1961 ( according to other data already September or December 1960) he resigned as commissioner. Lionello Levi Sandri became his successor. However, he is no longer in the group 's external relations, but in the present of Economy and Finance.

1960, Professor President of IRI was ( Italian Institute for Industrial Reconstruction - a powerful state-owned company). This he remained for almost 20 years, until 1979.

In 1979 he became a member of the Italian Senate after the elections. He belonged to the Christian Democrats (DC).
