Givors

Givors is a French city in the Rhône department. It is located about 25 kilometers south of Lyon at the mouth of greed in the Rhône. Givors has 19,718 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) and belongs to the Greater Lyon. The Mayor Martial Passi is elected in office until 2014 and since 1991. Like its predecessor, Camille Vallin, who held the post from 1953 to 1993, is one of the Parti Communiste Passi at français.

The community lies on the edge of the Regional Park of Pilat and is associated with this.

Twinning

Givors maintains a twinning with the Saxon town of chub.

Coat of arms

Description: In red three golden bees ( 2:1 provided).

Symbolism: The crest had under Napoleon in the right Obereck in blue the golden N for the initial of the Emperor with hovering star. Also a five towers silver mural crown in the upper crest and a blue -bound silver semi-open wreath surrounding the shield. This hung on a cross-laid caduceus.
