Gjaidstein

The High Gjaidstein is a 2794 m high mountain views of the Dachstein Mountains in Upper Austria to the east above the Hallstatt glacier. He can be reached from the mountain station of the Dachstein south face or from the Simonyhütte in each of easy climbing (I). In addition to the high there is also the Lower Gjaidstein ( 2482 m) and the Little Gjaidstein ( 2734 m).
An early ascent in 1823 by de Halley from the north from the Gjaidkar. Whether the simple peak was climbed earlier, is not known.
