Gjermund Eggen

Gjermund Eggen ( born June 5, 1941 in Engerdal ) is a retired Norwegian cross-country skier.

Eggen was the outstanding cross-country skiers at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1966, when he was both over 15 km and about 50 km world champion. A third gold medal he won with the Norwegian season. In the same year he won the election to Norway's Sportsman of the Year. On this success, he was not able in the course of his career. In 1966 he was honored with the Morgenbladet Gold Medal, 1968 with the Holmenkollen medal.
