Gjöll

Gjöll (the " Noisy " or " Brewing " ) is in Norse mythology, the river on the edge of the underworld Hel.

Gjöll springs from the source Hvergelmir and flows along the human world, before it trickles down into the underworld. The golden bridge Gjallarbru that of the goddess Modgudr ( Móðguðr ) is guarded, there spans the river. Here the dog Garm waiting for new arrivals.

Gjöll is also the name of the rock at the Fenris Wolf is bound.
